Priority Bicycles was founded in 2012 by Dave Weiner, who left his job as a CEO at a software consulting firm. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Dave was an avid bike commuter who wanted to design a new bike that required little maintenance and had indestructible tires. Dave and his team did just that, releasing their first bike in 2012.

In 2018, they released their first e-bike, the Current. Built for quality and longevity, the Current impressed us with its performance. In fact, in July 2023, Tyler rode the Priority Current on a 215-mile trip from Seattle to Portland. The Current held up great, and Tyler became a true believer in how nice belt drive e-bikes are to ride.

In August 2023, Priority introduced their second e-bike, the E-Classic Plus cruiser, designed for cruising and light commuting.

Priority’s focus has always been on building high-quality bikes that require little maintenance. Thus, both of their e-bike models utilize belt drives, which require way less maintenance than greasy chain drives. They also hold up really well in rainy climates, where your drivetrain is likely to get water and city grit on it.
