It’s that wonderful time of year again! We’re gearing up for the holidays and in our house we’re busy making holiday gift lists. As e-bike commuters, we’re often hoping for something to help make our commute more comfortable and fun. With that in mind, we’ve scoured our favorite retailers and found the best e-bike commuting accessories for this year’s holiday gift guide. Happy Holidays from our family to yours!
- The Garmin Edge 130 Plus Bike Computer ($200) is perfect for your fitness-loving e-bike commuting friends and family. Even though e-bikes have a pedal assist, commuting with an e-bike is a great way to get exercise. Adding the Garmin to your bike helps you track your fitness and progress on a day-to-day basis and over time.
- Rapha Commuter Jacket ($135) is a great gift this time of year. We love Rapha’s cycling clothing because the style and cuts are flattering and high-quality. We both own Rapha’s rain coats for the wetter days on the e-bike.
- HandleStash Cup holder ($45) is built with shock absorbing technology, which is perfect for e-bike commuting. The shock absorbing sides ensure your drink stays solidly in place and that it doesn’t fly off the handlebar. And it’s made in the USA! Use code ‘ebikecommuting’ for 10% off.
- The ABUS uGrip Bordo folding bike lock ($85) is our go-to way to lock up our e-bikes. It is lightweight and since it can be folded up and attached right to the e-bike, we never forget it and is easy to lock up wherever we go.
- The Castelli cycling cap ($20) is our favorite for under your helmet on cooler days.
- Rapha Winter Gloves ($110) are our go-to gloves for winter riding and make a great gift. They are reliably warm, even on the dark rainy days.
- NiteRider bike lights ($75) are an essential accessory for riding e-bikes. Especially in the winter months, the extra visibility is important. We love NiteRider because the strength is brighter than most other lights.
- Bern Watts 2.0 MIPS helmet ($100) is stylish, comfortable, and of high technical quality. Most people wear the same smelly helmet for decades, but it’s recommended that you replace them every 5 years or so because the protective plastic can deteriorate reducing its effectiveness. We love Bern helmets and the Watts 2.0 with integrated visor and MIPS technology is our top safety pick for city commutes.
- Fjallraven Lada Roundneck Sweater ($150) will keep you warm on those cold winter commutes. This high-quality wool sweater looks good at the office or on Sunday morning at the coffee shop. Perfect for layering under a coat or rain layer. The wool will wick some moisture while biking so you shouldn’t get too sweaty in it.
- Arcade Belt ($32) has a nice blend of sturdiness and stretch which means it’s comfortable to wear while you are biking. Traditional belts don’t stretch, which can make them feel tight when you lean forward toward the handlebars. This is not an issue with the Arcade Belt.
